  • The last good-bye for……..  Xanga.
    ICQ, MSN, they have all gone away.  Now, I guess, it’s Xanga’s turn.
    Facebook, Whatsapp, Wechat, Weibo, Twitter.  These are what replaced ICQ, MSN, and now Xanga.  Facebook in particular is meant for sharing with friends.  And yes, I do share on Facebook too, photos, check-ins, etc.  But somehow, I am just so much more superficial on Facebook.  A “Like” on a friend’s link doesn’t really mean much, it’s more of a “I’ve read it and it’s interesting”.  To be honest, I (or I guess most of us too) don’t give more than a second’s thought before liking a post.
    But Xanga…  It’s so different.  I think when I write something.  I do feel genuinely happy when only 1 person reads my post.  And I do look forward to reading a Xanga friend’s post, it’s like receiving a letter from a long-time pen-pal!  So yes, as Xanga looks likely to shut down in a few days, I do miss it very much.
    I guess there’s nothing I can do though, short of buying up Xanga.  It isn’t that expensive really, they’re only looking for HK$468,000!?!?!?  But well, unless anyone is willing to partner with me to buy over Xanga (yes, I’m serious!), I guess I’ll have to move someplace else to continue blogging.

    Even though Xanga the site may be closing, Xanga in our hearts shall still go on, and I’ll love to keep the a small part of our “Xanga” going.

  • Fruity desserts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

     

    Part of the reason I really like asian desserts is that there’s always so many fruits!  There’s always mango, aloe, orange, etc…  Seems so much more healthier!
    And for fruit desserts, there’s really nothing that tops this = “B 仔涼粉”!
    Let’s see..  There’s jackfruit, mango, papaya, pineapple, watermelon, lychee, longan, sweetmelon, agar, banana, dragonfruit, and a few more others I don’t even know the name of!  
    All in all, it makes for a great summer, healthy dessert!

    For those who don’t know where this is, it’s in Yuen Long…  Oh, best if you drive too, cause there’s free parking on the streets!

  • 奶茶王!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    據聞,香港有兩個“奶茶王”。一個呢,係深井,賣的是$40 一杯的奶茶。另外一個呢,就比較,親民,食個普通$2x 的茶餐,就試到杯頂級奶茶喇!

     

    Oh, 未介紹添。。  奶茶王係洪水橋。所以如果入屯門元朗一日游,中途就可以來這裡好好 tea 一下喇!

    奶茶點?hehe, 都係留返給你地試喇。。。  不過,蛋治來講,真係very good 啊,蛋夠厚,腿夠香,又唔會太咸!  所以,“奶茶王” 絕對係 tea 一 tea 的高級選擇!

  • I’m all for nostalgia, but……………….

     

    瑞記茶樓, well known for being a traditional yum-cha place in the heart of 大帽山.  

     

    Famous as it serves ONLY the most basic of traditional dim sums.  大包,馬拉糕,叉燒包,燒賣, etc.

     

    Famous in that you have to choose your own tea, wash your own cups and chopsticks and plates, and have to carry all of those to your own table.

    But frankly, I don’t know why it’s so popular among HKers!?  The food tastes bad, there is no aircon (which I think took away many many many marks because of the Hong Kong heat) and to top it off, it’s not cheap either!  
    So…  I would recommend if you want to find someplace to drive to and “see it”, but only go for a bowl of tofu-fa, and get out of there to find someplace nicer!

  • 近排返學好忙啊,好多堂!不過最喜愛的,還是“甜品堂”!!!!!!!!!!!

     

    甜品堂係邊樹上?就係 Hong Kong U 附近,所以之前就同同學仔落堂後去食,hehe, 為返學的一天提供一個 sweet ending!

     

    甜品堂最大的特色,哈哈,當然係佢扮到一個課室般一模一樣!木臺,木凳,黑板,壁布版,這裡都齊曬伽!

    當然,叫得甜品堂,D 甜品都要拿 A+ 喇!有無那麽高分?hehe, 我認爲未到 A+, 不過都有 A- 喇,所以都好值得推介啊!!!!!

  • 去台灣食日本串燒!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?
    唔講唔知。。  原來係台北,Yakitori 店已開到成行成市!同埋,當地的串燒唔只係“雞肉,牛肉” 等等,而係好做到好 “fine dining” 般的!
    好,馬上為大家介紹下!

    1。炸雞皮 + 生蛋!  哈哈,聼落有點兒“垃雑”?事實上,當地人好喜歡食師傅炸雞皮伽,不過又驚太乾!所以,加蛋醬食,既惹味,又唔會太乾!Good!

    2。燒雞屁股!hehe, 係啊,原來香港人好少食的雞部位,台灣人原來好喜歡。。  雖然肥D, 不過燒完滴走D 油,好好味啊,夠曬香口!

    3。呢個,普通雞串,算係最“正常” 喇!加埋剛剛好的terriyaki sauce, 燒得好入味,oiishii ne!

    4。最後登場。。  Agedeashi tofu…  豆香皮脆唔再話,佢的presentation 靚到呢!好喜歡啊!
    各位港人,下次去台灣,可以試試台灣的居酒屋,水準好高呀!

  • Dazzling sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Will you be going to Taipei?  If so (or if you live in Taipei), you MUST absolutely go to Dazzling cafe!  It is SO good!  Yes, it’s now my Number 1 favorite place in Taiwan.

     

    And the reason it’s so good is because of it’s honey toast!  Sooooooo  yum, and ahhhhh, and it’s soooo pretty too!  
    hehe, if you’re the type that goes “ew, hello kitty plane”, you would probably dislike this cafe.  But if you’re the type who goes to Taiwan and cross your fingers to get on the special hello kitty plane, you’ll love this kawaii place!

    Not to mention, their coffees are really good too!  I had a rose flavoured mocha…  Sweet!

  • 台灣茶店………………………….

    好多人一想起去台灣,就即刻想起夜市,九份,民宿,等等!

    hehe, 不過對於去過幾次的我,再去夜市不如殺死我好過啦(雖然結果都有去…)!所以,之前個次去台灣,就改了少少itinerary, 反而去下些高級享受!

    第一享受點:小茶栽堂

    個名好靚呢。。  環境好舒服伽,我去的是“永康街”的分社,坐在二樓品茶,wa, 夠曬寫意… 

    一壺茶大概港幣100, 都算幾貴!不過一個大茶壺加兩小杯,係咪好有“無印”的feel ne…. 

    而食物來講,都ok ga!  Napoleon 係本地一位朋友特別推介的!好靚啊,紅紅的 strawberries!

    hehe….  講到尾。。  值唔值?睇下你席唔喜歡“食環境”喇!

  • Where is Hong Kong’s best cafe???……………………….

     

    I’ll say that it’s in Tai O!  
    Tai O has one of my favorite cafes in Hong Kong.  What gives it big points is not because of the coffee though (so it’s pretty good), but rather, the environment!  
    Normally, in Hong Kong, all you get are really cramped cafes.  And somehow, they are all indoors too, rarely do you get to see any natural light.  So this cafe in Tai O, with its outdoor seating overlooking the water canals…  Having a coffee here gives a “kick” that nowhere else can compare!

    And yes…  They serve a latte in a glass too!  So yup, they definitely pass the “coffee part” for a good cafe too!

  • 靚靚西餐……………………………………….

    此終,每逢特別日子,情人節,聖誕大餐,等等,食“西餐”的感覺都比較豪華,開心!我想大概關個氣氛事吧!白白的碟加埋埔得靚靚的食物,都備食客一種心跳的感覺!

    hehe, 以下落來好讓我介紹下係紐西蘭的”Dunedin” 食過的靚靚西餐吧!A photo paints a thousand words, 所以我都唔多寫啦!

     

    頭盤: Pork belly with tempura-fried scallops!

     

    主餐 1:  Lamb cutlet with kumara base and kumara mash. 

     

    主餐 2:  Slow-cooked eye fillet with bok choy (即係”白菜“)!

     

    主餐 3:  Fresh Hoki fillet (即石班)+ blue cheese tartare sauce!

     

    甜品:心太軟 with vanilla bean ice-cream.

     

    最後原來先發覺,原來係Dunedin 的這閒 “Pier 24″ 好厲害啊!睇下佢贏的金碟就知!
