  • 靚靚西餐..............................................

    此終,每逢特別日子,情人節,聖誕大餐,等等,食“西餐”的感覺都比較豪華,開心!我想大概關個氣氛事吧!白白的碟加埋埔得靚靚的食物,都備食客一種心跳的感覺!

    hehe, 以下落來好讓我介紹下係紐西蘭的"Dunedin" 食過的靚靚西餐吧!A photo paints a thousand words, 所以我都唔多寫啦!

     

    頭盤: Pork belly with tempura-fried scallops!

     

    主餐 1:  Lamb cutlet with kumara base and kumara mash. 

     

    主餐 2:  Slow-cooked eye fillet with bok choy (即係”白菜“)!

     

    主餐 3:  Fresh Hoki fillet (即石班)+ blue cheese tartare sauce!

     

    甜品:心太軟 with vanilla bean ice-cream.

     

    最後原來先發覺,原來係Dunedin 的這閒 "Pier 24" 好厲害啊!睇下佢贏的金碟就知!

  • Transits = Good food stops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I know that most people don't like Transits.  But for me, they're actually pretty OK.  Especially since flights with a transit-stop tend to be cheaper generally, like a HK$1000 ticket I've bought to go to "___" for the long weekend in July!

    And transits are OK, because...  You get to stop somewhere and find some good food! 

    Like, this transit stop in Kuala Lumpur on my trip to Auckland earlier this year....

    An authentic Nasi Lemak, in Malaysia!  Now, if you just flew over without stopping, you'll have missed this!

    And Kaya Toast!  Nicely baked-heated! 

    So, the next time you see a flight with a transit-stop...  Think of it as a short food-stop!

  • "Eggs benedict", 其實好講究伽...................

    年頭,去佐紐西蘭!其中最享受的,就係去間靚靚cafe, 食返個靚早餐!其中,one of my favorites has always been "eggs benedict"!  好,今日post D "Eggs Benedict" 的相同大家分享下!

    係咪好正呢!?  "Eggs benedict with bacon", 係 Auckland 的 "One Tree Hill" cafe 食伽!

    而這個呢,就係通常價錢貴一點點的 "Eggs Benedict with Salmon"! 

    講開有講。。  其實好多係香港食到的 "Eggs Benedict" 都可算是 fail 的!點解?因爲 Eggs Benedict 需要以下幾樣材料:

    1.  流心蛋 (Poached egg).  可惜好多餐廳太馬夫,一係只蛋熟曬,一係水汪汪!
    2.  Hollandaise sauce.  可見到,hollandaise sauce 應該鮮黃色,好sharp 伽!
    3.  Muffin 或 sourdough。可惜。。  好多香港找到的所謂"eggs benedict" 只用普通麵包。根本不是那種口味!Muffin 或 sourdough 需要用來連埋 D hollandaise sauce 一齊食先正伽!

     

    所以,以上這個都不是 "Eggs Benedict" 啊,因爲無 muffin!  不過,這個"Bangers and mash" 都好好食哦!!!

    緊係士多喇!hehe, 因爲可以座D "hea" 下,係大自然之間,古老簡薄但又充滿風味的士多食下野,簡直比美任何5星級餐廳!

    三文治+ 麥精 相信係大家的“例牌”!

    又或者,山水豆腐花?

    hehe, 唔知點解,不過係深山裏食返碗豆腐花,總覺得佢正過普通糖水鋪好多。我想,大概關大家遠離工作的煩擾,心情大靚gua...
