  • Fine dining lunch at Sheung Wan!!!!!!

    The best part about moving to a new office?  A new environment! 

    And with that comes need places to eat!  Like this place, “La Parole”…  As you can see from the picture, I had the steak, which is really good!

    And so are the “lamb cutlets” my colleague had…..

    But the best is indeed saved for last…  No, not the dessert (although it’s perfectly good too)..  It’s the Iced Mocha!!!!!!!!!  It’s definitely the best mocha in Hong Kong!

    Oh, last but not least…  Service is really really good….  And ALSO, it’s a social enterprise for a charity too!  How nice!  http://www.laparole.com.hk/story.php

  • “有錢,又係gum過!無錢,都可以開心gum過……….”

    這一向是我左右銘。。 不過,近排因爲工作,周邊朋友的 ups&downs,加埋面臨超級多堂的讀書生涯,的確另我差不多忘記了這句。。

    好在,我上個星期陪婆婆返鄉下!看到我的農夫親戚雖然無大車,屋企無豪華會所,不過佢地簡單的生活,與鄰居的親切打招呼,都好好提醒了我其實 “生活可以就係gum簡單地開心”!

    靠知己的雙手得到的收成,其實比起任何錢買返來得都珍貴!

    hehe, 當日我就係到傻傻地望著個魚塘整個鐘!

  • Taco + Rice = Tacorice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You might be thinking it’s a strange combination, Tacorice.  And that it might taste weird too.

    But NO!  It’s surprisingly delicious!  There’s the usual ingredients of a Taco:  Egg, Veges, Melted cheese, Beef mince, Sour cream.  And Rice!  Blend that all in together, and it tastes…  just like a Taco!

    You really have to try it though, or you’ll never get what I’m talking about!  By the way, this is at “Wired Cafe” at the new Hysan Plaza!

    Oh, do try their “Salty and sour” fries too!  They’re pretty good!!!

  • $12 的吞拿魚壽司, 與 $34 的精選吞拿魚腩有分別嗎?

    好多時去壽司鋪,都見到三文魚,吞拿魚有款“平版”,又有款“貴版”。

    一向以來,我都只會order “平版“,因爲覺得師傅唔會特定留意到用“平版”或“貴版”。

    直至剛剛上個星期係元氣壽司,無意中order 佐款 “高級版” 吞拿魚腩壽司。。  Wa….  真係好正哦!

    所以。。。  唔知大家有咩睇法呢!???????

  • Cafe Landmark is not just a cafe!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    All along, I had always thought that the cafe right in the middle of Landmark was just a…  cafe!  Until I went there with Karen last week!

    As it turns out, it’s actually a proper restaurant which is most famous for its lobster linguini (as pictured), and its Baked crab shell (as below)…

    Both of which are really good!  Mmm, I can still remember these 2 dishes a week later…

    Oh, although you may wish to skip the steaks…  It’s just “花園餐廳” quality!

  • 為何香港人個個要力拼賺多D,升高D?

    我唔想。老闆,如果你睇緊的話,請不要升我職!

    可能,你地會話 “硬係喇,你係你個位當然夠喇“!對。。  我十分十分感恩我現在的位置。不過講真的話,even 我被 ”鄧冬菇“ 落幾級,我都唔介意!我現在亂講一通嗎?非也,非也。。  以下,容許我今日在大家樂食早餐時的情景分析一下。

    我今日左邊坐著一台有兩位某某會計師樓的西裝友。右邊另一台,有兩位食完就準備開工的裝修工友。而佢地的分別,就簡述如下:

    會計師西裝友:  正在擔心知己的工作表現。Complain 緊昨晚幾夜放工。好低俗地討論緊上星期來佐位“丑女”。講緊如何打算今日找些藉口拖著個客。一幅愁面!

    裝修工友:  討論緊周末做咩,陪小朋友去邊。講緊話趕埋今日工,要做得”好好睇睇”。討論緊今晚去邊度打邊爐,邊間抵食。輕鬆,friendly!

    其實大家應該唔難發覺。。 係香港,究竟賺得多的人比較開心,還是我地一向覺得比較”艱辛“ 的勞工階層?  做所謂的 “professional”, 真的是那麽值得嚮往嗎?

    我本人?我真係好enjoy 之前坐大廳同同事打牙絞的日字啊!!!

  • Classified: Eggs Benedict-Almost BUT…

    Short review of Classified here…. 

    Why are the Eggs Benedict “almost but not yet”?  Let’s “check”!

    Poached Egg = Yes
    Hollandaise sauce = Yes, perfect taste!
    Salmon = Yup
    Muffin = Uhhh..  Nope.  Strange bread they’re using
    Presentation = Served on a white plate only, as in picture.  Is this good enough?

    So….  “Almost but not quite there” yet!

  • 香港最好味的壽司連鎖店。。。。。。”峰壽司”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    點解?因爲佢不但只水準由剛剛開始時維持至今,佢亦不斷有新款出!

    板長? = 水準間間唔同。
    元氣? = 無咩新野!
    千兩? = 貴,不過維持元氣質素。
    Monster? = 不太新鮮。所謂新款唔好食!
    一壽司? = 黑夜壽司特價等死人。否則?好唔抵!
    元綠?= hehe, 唔知還有沒有。
    北海道活壽司? = 新款壽司唔好食。
    和花亭? = 食海鮮Don 好過喇!

    唔知大家有無同感,或者有無另一D推介呢?????

  • Presentation is everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    There are more and more western cafes, restaurants propping up all over Hong Kong.  But you know what 90% of them lack? 

    Nope…  Not the environment.  Not the food either, the taste is generally there.  Service is quite acceptable.  It’s the PRESENTATION!

    Take this for example:  A pudding. 

    You can see that the chef tried to decorate it the “western way”.  With mango syrup to add swirls to line the plate.  But it just looks….  WRONG!

    And this is even worse.  This is a Green Tea Serraduca with red-bean…  Just looks…  UGH!

    A wagyu beef steak may be beautifully grilled in a fine dining restaurant in Hong Kong..  But I have YET to find one that can do “plating” beautifully…..
